There are many good reasons to learn Nitrox certification. Nitrox diving allows you to experience the thrill of enriched air. It can also help you feel more confident as a diver. Numerous organizations offer certification programs. These are just a few: NAUI Enriched Airnitrox Diver, PADI Enriched Air Divers, SSI Adventure Diver and Open Water Diver.
PADI Enriched Air Diver
PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx), certification is for divers who want to increase their bottom time. This course includes both a classroom session and home study. The EANx course teaches you about the oxygen content in the scuba tanks, how to use a scuba analyzer and the standard procedures for recording that percentage.
With Nitrox enriched air divers, they can increase the amount of time they can stay under water without stopping frequently. The air mix has a lower amount of nitrogen, which gives them a greater safety margin. Additionally, enriched air mixtures usually contain 32% to 36% oxygen which makes them suitable for diving at shallow depths.

NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver
If you want to improve your diving, an enriched air diver certification will help you get there. This course teaches the basics of mixing air, the risks associated high oxygen concentrations, and how you can handle the equipment. Additionally, you will learn how to operate a diving computer and analyze the contents in your tanks. A standard air dive table will also be covered. Common blending techniques for nitrogen and oxygen will also be covered.
Nitrox is also known as enhanced air. This type of breathing gas contains more oxygen then standard air. The increased oxygen content means you can stay underwater longer and not need to refill your tank. Because it reduces decompression fatigue, this is good for your health. Additionally, enriched air divers have shorter surface intervals.
SSI Adventure Diver
SSI, an internationally recognized dive organization, offers the SSI Adventure Diver Nitrox Certification. You must have knowledge and experience in order to be certified. You must have at least 50 dives, and four specialty courses to be eligible for this award.
The SSI Adventure Diver nitrox course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to dive in limited visibility. It teaches divers how navigate in dark conditions, use specialized equipment, communicate with other divers, and how to communicate with them. They will be eligible for the SSI Nitrox Specialty Certification once they have successfully completed the course.

SSI Open Water Diver
The SSI Open Water Diver course is an internationally recognized certification program that includes three parts: academic learning, in-water pool training, and multiple open-water dives. During this course, you will learn how to plan and dive using enriched air mixes up to 40% oxygen. This can increase your bottom time and reduce your surface intervals. It may also help to avoid decompression sickness.
PADI and SSI diver centers have different ways of handling certifications. PADI certification requires you to buy your manual. You will receive your card from your dive center, if you are a SSI certified diver. PADI certification centers can also issue temporary cards which you can use to prove your certification.
