Dani Koyomaru

Saint Lucia offers divers a range of diving options. There are two options for divers who want to dive in Saint Lucia: Rosemond's Trench is smaller but just as impressive; or deeper waters. The site is well-known for its huge schools of tropical fish, man-sized sponges and intricate coral formations. Diving here is also a great way to see the famous Saint Lucia reef system.

The Daini Koyomaru shipwreck is located a few miles further from the coast. The Japanese dredger, the Daini Koyomaru, sank in 1996. The wreck of the ship can still be seen partially submerged. The ship's decks are visible and there are inscriptions in Japanese, English, and other languages.

Dani Koyomaru dragger

It is an amazing wreck to dive. The Daini Koyomaru, which was a Japanese fishing boat, was dredged in 1996. It's 74 meters long and about twenty-four meters tall. The dredger, which is sunken on its side now makes it a safe place for experienced divers to dive. It is home to a variety of marine life, including garden eels and moray eels as well as barracudas.

The 165-foot cargo ship Lesleen M, a Japanese dredger, is another popular St Lucia dive site. The reef is home for a variety of interesting creatures such as scorpionfish, flying garnards, and rays, despite its limited depths.

Soufriere Marine Management Area

Scuba diving in St Lucia's Soufriere Marine Management Area is a great way to get closer to the island's beautiful coral reefs. The marine management zone was created to preserve the area's pristine waters and support a healthy ecosystem. It was founded in response to environmental degradation, conflict among resource owners, and other factors. The SMMA was primarily created because of conflicts between local fishermen and scuba divers.

Since 2004, the Soufriere Pictons site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is protected as a nature preserve and hosts some of St Lucia's best diving. It is home to numerous coral species as well as an abundance of tropical fish. This area is also known for the passage of various species of cetaceans and predators. Divers can also observe the beautiful marine biodiversity.
