Advanced technical diving certifications can be pursued by many people. TDI offers Intro to Tech courses as well as Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures and Advanced Nitrox, while PADI offers Tec Trimix or Deep Diver courses. Advanced Nitrox diving techniques are taught in the TDI Advanced Nitrox Course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment use, gas switching, advanced emergency techniques and lift bag deployment. Visit the TDI web site for more information.
TDI Intro To Tech Course
The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It can also serve as a great introduction to TDI's advanced courses, such as Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. For those who have completed technical courses, it can be used to refresh your knowledge. During the course technical instructors from TDI will evaluate your skills.
The TDI Intro to Tech course was designed for divers who are not familiar with twin cylinders. The course also covers advanced buoyancy control, gas management, and more. Students will also acquire situational awareness and trim skills. You can take the course in open cenotes or at sea, which offer similar conditions to swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. This course is intended to enhance your open water diving skills, and to introduce you the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will also be covered. It is strictly a no-decompression course, but you will be allowed to use enriched air nitrox mixes during the course.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures training prepares divers for accelerated decompression. The course covers advanced gas planning, management and safety techniques. Students learn to manage their equipment, and how to plan for emergencies. A TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Courses includes four dives at a maximum depth reach of 40m (130ft).
This course can either be taken in its entirety or as part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses can be taken as a performance-based course and last for 4 days. Students complete six dives and two dives below 30 meters. The course is tailored to the students' experience and individual needs. This course prepares you for advanced technical diving.
PADI Tec Trimix course
PADI Tec Trimix90 is the final stage in the PADI Technical Diver circuit. This certification opens up the possibility to go deeper into the ocean and discover places no one else has. This course is only suitable for highly experienced tec divers who want to extend their range and explore deeper environments. You must hold a valid diving license and pass a medical exam to become certified in trimix diving. For this certification, you need two 30cf stage bottles and a face mask.
For the PADI Tec Trimix course, the Tec Trimix 65 diver must have logged at least 350 dives, including at least 50 decompression dives with a trimix less than 21 percent oxygen. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. There are multiple teaching scenarios. This is the most advanced technical diving certification. The requirements are much more stringent than the PADI Tec Diver certification.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
PADI's Tec Deep Diver certification offers recreational divers more advanced training. This certification covers four diving trips, which include a practice in safety stops and descents. The technical diving equipment you use, such as a side mounted cylinder and EANx, will be practiced. The course will also teach you how to plan deep dives, and manage your gas supply. It's possible to take your lessons online or offline, and the PADI Tec eLearning program allows you to do it at your own pace.
This program is two years long, unlike the PADI courses. First, you'll need to get a Tec 50 diving certification from an authorized organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical diving, decompression diving up to 50 metres and pure oxygen diving. Additionally, the PADI Course Director conducting the Tec Deep Instructor course may also offer Tec 50 diver level training. Upon completion of the Tec Deep Instructor course, the PADI Course Director will issue you a Tec Deep Diver certification.
